Yesterday we found out that we`re going to be spending the last two-three weeks together with the dts at this base on their outreach on a tour up to Costa Rica for some days, and then travel our way down through almost the whole country with a YWAM bus, going for example vulcano climbing in Bocca del Torro to having urban ministries in cities like Chitrè and to going into indigenous villages preaching the gospel. Today is in other words our last full day here at the base, and we are both sentimental and excited. But what have we been doing lately?? Pictures speak louder than words...
Once in a village our closest neighbour showed us his iguana-farm in his back yard.... Crazy many, dangerous and ugly animals. But it was cool!:D
Our team together with our first excellent contact person and some other people before they left for mexico on outreach.
We contributed at a youth festival were a rock band brought in their kona (indigenous) background into the music. It was amazingly raw!!
Jesus dance.
Some of the people from the other dts that we are travelling with. They are cool people from all over the world. We like them.
One of our beautiful and talented staff celebrated her 23. birthday in many different ways... We love you, Hanne!!
Some of Panama City. We`ve been doing alot of urban ministries in this aerea.
The Kona people wear speciall costumes where the women f.ex have rings around their legs so that their legs becomes skinny. We spendt some nights in a village like this far far up a river, and it was incredibly outreach. We weren`t allowed to take any pictures there, so these are some people from the city. YWAM have never been there before, and we slept around 30 people (together with a team from America and a family) in hammocks in a big straw house with chickens and dogs and all kinds of animals running under our feet. In the neighbour hut they were celebrating a girl "becoming a woman" by having her being trapped up in a little cage for six days, and in the night all the kids would come and throw water at her to "clean her". Very outreach experience...:)
We were helping out at a youth camp were we put up a wedding the last day as the great finall of their camp. The girls at least had a great time:)
John Marc (in the red t-shirt) is a great guy that has been taking us all over Panama City on prayer walks. He has been a missionary in Taiwan together with his wife for many years and now he`s working with he Chinese people here in Panama (which actually makes up 10 % of the people). We have also gotten to contribute in this great work.
A short trip to the zoo after sunday service.
